It is important to have parent involvement in leadership roles for the school and parish. Currently there are five committees that function in these leadership roles and all of them are looking for new members and fresh ideas. If you are interested in serving on one of these committees or have questions about the committees, please contact the office for more information and/or the name of the committee contact person.
School Committee
The School Committee is a group of elected or discerned parishioners who, along with the pastor and principal, are dedicated to the promotion and welfare of Catholic education. The School Committee serves as an advisory body to the principal. It assists with policy development, identifying and expressing the educational goals and objectives of the parish community, budget planning and public relations. The School Committee meets once a month. (Bylaws) (Minutes)
Athletic Committee
The Athletic Committee works with every aspect of the sports program. It monitors and updates policies for the program, and It oversees the coaching and the practices of the health, safety, and physical development of the children involved in the program. This committee organizes and runs the annual St. Kilian Basketball Tournament in February. You need not have a child in the athletic program to benefit from this committee because the Athletic Committee also supports the Physical Education program and physical activities during recess. (Bylaws)
Home & School
The Home & School Committee meets once a month during the school year. Home & School provides activities and events for the students, staff, and families of St. Kilian. The committee hosts our fish fries, Trunk or Treat, FunFest, our annual festival, and other events throughout the year. If you are interested in joining the Home & School Committee, please contact the principal or look for information regarding upcoming meetings in the school newsletter. (Bylaws) (Minutes)
Marketing
Promoting St. Kilian School positively throughout our community by sharing our story of Catholic education through print, social media, banners, and word of mouth.
Technology
The Technology Committee meets three times during the school year to review technology needs and maintenance items. The Technology Committee also promotes fundraising for technology by hosting a plant sale each spring.
